Coolant
Just noticed I need to top off the coolant on my '11 50i. What coolant do I need? The owners manual says BMW's own coolant is recommended, but the dealers here are closed for the weekend, and I assume there are acceptable substitiutes at a lower price. Thanks in advance for you help.

BMW only.
And by top off, is it at the minimum mark already? I would think that with a car that new, you should look as to why you're losing so much anti-freeze. I just had a cracked radiator replaced in my X5, and the SA mentioned that it's a quite frequent issue. May want to get the system checked out. |

Thanks for the reply. Yes, just below the min mark, but apparently not enough below to initiate a "low coolant" warning message. BTW, does anyone know when BMW specifies the coolant be changed? I see nothing in the manuals, thanks.
