Dash area buzzing noise

I've read a number of posts about a buzzing noise in the dash in a lot of BMW's that starts at higher speeds (60-70 mph) and gets louder at higher speeds. It kind of sounds like the old speedometer cable noise when they needed replacing. Has anyone figured out the remedy? One post talked about screws above the steering column on the dash but I haven't seen a fix yet. Another comparison is like a oven timer. Didn't have it until a long trip yesterday where it got progressively worse between 70-85 mph. M3 forums had a bunch of posts with the same problem. Any ideas?

Take it back to the dealer and go for a ride with a tech. Unless every one does it, it can be fixed.
