X6 satellite radio
Hey guys, I just bought a 2010 x6 w/ premium sound, which I thought included satellite radio, but I can't find the option in I drive, when I called the dealer he said it is satellite "prepped" meaning I need to add a satellite receiver. Doesn't sound right to me, anyone else have this issue? Thanks

I think the audio options have changed a lot over the years, but I think that it was possible in 2012 to get an X6 with premium sound and without satellite radio. The satellite radio was a separate option.

Always has been a $350 add on regardless of model year. The car has the receiver installed and the antenna is in the fin already, but the car needs to be recoded for the iDrive to display it and then you need to activate the 1 year "Free" package it comes with. Takes about 1 to 2 hours for them to recode the car so most of the $350 is "Labor"!

Correct, for 2012 it was part of the premium sound package. Side note, wish it wasn't, have no desire for it as it has the sound quality of AM

just went back to my 2010 paperwork and to "add it on" it was $350. if its part of the package you have ordered like my 2013 had Premium Sound with Satellite Radio then it was included. As was mentioned earlier the packages have changed over the years but if you don't have it, it has always been $350 to "add it on"! The early Premium Sound Packages had the Satellite Radio separate as below for 2010.
Premium Sound Package - $2,000 Sixteen upgraded speaker(s); 600 watt output with digital amplifier; Disc autochanger glove box, 6 and DVD; Connection to ext.entertainment devices includes input USB connection; DVD/VCD; Entertainment display screen front; Audio system with Disc Autochanger and six-disc remote changer 655 SIRIUS Satellite Radio with 1 Year Subscription - $350 Audio system with satellite |
