E70 mSport Shifter Question

Just picked up a 2012 e70 mSport 35i, nicely optioned for the wife and am starting to think about MODs. One that intrigues me is the possibility of swapping out the shift knob for those similar to the f15 mSport Shifter.

I've searched quite a bit, but couldn't find anything definitive or in-depth.

Anyone done this and know whether it would be a direct swap plug n play, say one from an f15 or even the f10?

Even if some modifications and coding needs to be done, I'll be up for it as I've done quite a bit of mods and coding on several E series dating back to the e39.
