Blower motor issue

Sometimes the AC blower will randomly increase the speed of the air flow when in auto mode and then settle back down to normal. This seems to be fairly random. Is this an indicator that the blower motor resister needs to be replaced?

Doing a little research it appears that on the e70 the blower motor includes the regulator (resistor) and it's fairly easy to get to. Is it worth just replacing the regulator?

Yes! it’s not hard to access my brother had a problem with his X5 AC not blowing at the setting he had it at (was always blowing on the lowest setting) if you take the blow motor out the resistor is attached right to it, did it in my driveway in like 30-45 minutes. I want to say there might be a relearning process for the resistor (i could be dead wrong) but when i put the new one in for him it would only blow on the highest setting for like a week or 2 then started to operate like normal

Mine does this randomly as well, just never really cared to address it. I haven't seen a fix for it though...got a link?

the blower resistor is the silver piece attached to the motor itself and is really easy to change once the blower motor is out.
