Exclamation E70 Readiness Help

Hoping some gurus can help me out here.

E70 35d

Back story: Recently purchased this 35d locally about 3 weeks ago. Went to emissions station the very next day to have emissions and safety done. Emissions inspector said the vehicle was not ready as the vehicle was cleared recently...I understand that when the vehicle is cleared it takes a few miles for everything to reset. 200 miles later, the engine light comes on...Pull out my code reader and its P2E00 which is related to NOx Sensor.

I went to dealership since it is covered under the 10 year/120k mile warranty. They replaced the part for free and I am trying to pass emissions now. I've driven 630 miles since part was replaced and the vehicle is still not in readiness mode...I checked via my code reader and CAT and HRT are still showing as not reading. Everything else is green and ready to go.

I've never had issues like this before on any of the previous 11 BMWs I've owned (and I've owned a 35d previously). Scum previous owner must've known about the emissions related issue, cleared the code prior to me picking it up.

Any ideas on what else I can do to remedy this besides drive aimless miles for no reason?

I had this same thing happen on my X5M. Turned out to be my tune. The tune coded out the O2 sensor and something else so they were showing as "not ready" no matter how long I drove it. Dealership couldn't figure it out. Ended up tuning it back to stock, drove it a hundred miles or so, and it passed.

Can you see if the previous owner has the stock tune that you can flash it back to?

Also worth knowing is the actual drive cycle the car performs - it would be technically possible to drive all 600 miles without actually completing it, depending on the type of driving.

Highly doubtful previous owner has a tune on this vehicle.

Thanks for the image. I guess the only thing I haven't done is a 5 minute cool down prior to shut off. But jesus 600 miles and still nothing. I plan to drive a bit more today. And if not, I am just going to install the tow hitch (which will probably reset the system again at some point with the wire harness installation). Thing is pissing me off

DUDE! This worked!!!!!

I checked my code reader for IM Readiness and everything was green (besides HRT, which I think is okay). I went straight to dealership and had them perform emissions testing and it passed immediately. What a relief - 3 weeks of aimless miles for no reason.

Great! FYI, each 'phase' of that drive cycle is a separate evaluation of one of the readiness monitors. You don't have to perform the entire cycle in one drive, but you do have to perform one entire 'phase' to get credit for it and that monitor to go 'ready.' I know the driving I normally do NEVER achieves 40-60 mph for 15 minutes. I have to go on the highway and just set the cruise at 55mph while I fear for my life for 15 minutes.

Going through this same problem with my recently acquired X5D. Have driven at least 500 miles and can't get the "PM filter monitoring" ready

Will try the above procedure.
