my new X5 35d - love it
Picked up my new 2010 X5 35d last Friday night; I love it. Amazing motor and very versatile vehicle. It is alpine white with saddle brown and these options: Premium Package, Premium Sound, Rear Climate Package, Sport Acitivity Package, Heated front seats, ipod adapter, satellite radio, roof rails, and maybe a few other trinkets - everyone should own one as their family wagon.
Take a gander . . . Last edited by Vintage; 11-22-2009 at 03:38 PM.. |

I know this is not the fanciest looking or sportiest thing out there - but it makes me very happy to drive it, extremely versatile, great power at all times but for some initial lag, roomy, comfortable, all modern conveniences, etc. I am beginning to think the money I spent was too cheap for how much vehicle this 35d actually is - does this sound crazy?

X5 35d
I've test driven ur vehicle a few months ago & it is wonderful. If only they can have dpc option for the x5 ( or any other models), I guarantee bmw will have greater market share over mercedes & porsche.
In their limited "genius" the x6 is not available in north america w/ diesel, while in europe it is. Is diesel not a viable alternative to the Activehybrid? which will no doubt cost more & therefore takes longer to "payback" /return on investment ? The torque of the 35d engine is ideal for towing other toys like snow mobile, boat, camper trailer. Give customers a choice & they'll do business w/u. A customer with no choice will take their business elsewhere. Cayenne has diesel now! In addition to crash test dummies @ bmw, seems they have a few marketing dummies too! |

amen to the dummies comment - diesel is awesome and if BMW keeps putting in their vehicles I will soon own all BMW diesels (I really want it in a 5 series wagon and the 1 hatch for my work/commuting vehicle)

there are 2 great 3l diesel engines available in europe: one with 245hp available on 730d (also on 5gt, new 5 series and e9x: 330d) and one with 306hp available on 740d... the last one is a real masterpiece!

very interesting? we in the US receive only a 265hp 3.0 ltr motor; it is a great motor but more options are better

Will have a few months of overlap with the 4.8i so I'll be able to park the M3 for awhile.
