X5 Recall

Just went in to the dealer yesterday for other issues and have been told there is a new recall out...im not sure if it regards to non diesel engines or the specific years but for sure the 2012 diesel engines have a recall...they said they had to replace some bolts and advised the vehicle not to be driven till they fix it.
Just wanted to give you x5 diesel drivers a heads up!

Here's what the dealers are receiving from BMW.

So they are planning on repairing the units "in stock" BEFORE addressing actual owner cars that could be on the road and "at risk"? Seems a bit odd way to 'service' your clientele

I just moved to Charleston and took my car in for service today at Rick Hendrick BMW. The service adviser said that BMW hasn't sent them the recall yet. Couldn't they have told me this on the phone?

I haven't heard anything about a recall yet either. I wonder which bolts they are replacing and what types of issues they are causing?

This looks like the results of one of the failures is Marwan1's posted in this thread...

I picked mine up yesterday. I believe mine was build after the Nov 15 cutoff date. Loving it...

It's not a recall (at least not yet). It's a Delivery Stop notice. If you look at the title of the second attachment, it says "idler pulley bolt". That seems to be the issue. And it sure sounds eerily close to the problem I had with my 2012 X5d on the day I took delivery of it, with a faulty pulley leading the drive belt to hit the power steering fluid hose causing a thumping noise and ultimately failure of that hose and loss of power steering... And it could have been much worse if other parts of the engine were also damaged.
