20" Wheel specs?
Hi all....Does anyone have the specs for the 20" Sport activity 336 Y-Spoke wheels? I'm looking for the width, backspacing and bolt pattern and hub diameter if there is one. I currently have the 336 wheels on my '11 X5 50i and I want to get a snow wheel/tire setup to swap out for the winter but I don't like the basic 5-spoke series 209 wheels offered at the dealer. I was thinking about the "M" replicas with snow tires, what do you think? But I don't know what size i have to match up for fitment. My local dealer is useless getting this type of info.

I know the size of the 336's are 20X10.0 & 20X11.0. The 336 should be the same specs as the 214, and the 214 specs are as follows.
Bore: 74.1 front/rear Offset (ET) front/rear: 40/37 Problem with (5M size 21's) wheels i believe is the rear bore. I think the rear bore on the "M" is smaller...72.something. 5M also has wider tires so i don't know how this may effect offset. You may have trouble finding a snow tire for the 21's. Seems like there was only two tires on the market for the 21's in the correct size. All Bmw"s 21's list specs as 10X21 & 11.5X21 with 285/35 front & 325/30 rear. somebody on here knows! |

Two months ago, I was doing exactly what you're doing now...
All from reading people's posts, including those on the fest. Then trying to cross reference with OEM stuff for sale. I didn't trust what any of the boys selling the aftermarket stuff told me. I will tell u this, the last wheels i purchased were OEM Refurbished for an e39. They were style 65's, which are all powder coat, and the color was dicked-up. Not scratched, it was just not right. The one on the car is the refurbished, and it's not the lighting. They get a dull grey look the further you move away. At 50' they look flat gray. OEM un-refurbished get more metallic the further you move away. When I complained, they said that bmw offered that wheel in 16 different colors....I told them they were full of shit and hung up! I would expect the same from most aftermarket. If you have nothing to compare it to, you may not notice. I'm not trying to scare you, just telling you my experience. I only use mine for 2 months a year and I still hate-em... but I'm kind of a freak with details! |
