Someone back into me in the parking lot!!

I think the someone back into me with his hitch or something like this.
With the damage like this, do you think it worth going through insurance for?
Also, I have no idea who does this to my car. Do i need a front bumper change or they can fix this at the dealer?

Bummer

I often think that BMW need to have a 2"diameter chrome or matt stainless accessory brush bar in front to avoid parallel parking mishaps like this.
the x6 front & rear bumpers is quite a large piece that wraps around the corners & the lights. & no doubt Xpensive to replace.

its really depends on your insurance, how much is your deductible ?? To make sure its all worth it, go to dealer and ask them how much it would cost to repair it, get some numbers, than go to good regular body shop get some numbers there. ONLY after that take a look at all the numbers and your insurance deductible. In some cases, like mine in my insurance deductible is $1000, and lets say repair would cost 900 - doesn't worth for me, go to insurance.

PS Sad to see such a damage, hope you`ll fix it soon

I think most likely insurance. There is possible internal bumper damage too. Sad to see such atrocity.

Sigh..... I went to the dealer today and they quoted me 1.6k to replace the bumper. $800 for part and $800 for labors. I have $750 for deductible. So i guess i'm going to the insurance to get it done. The sad part is that I couldn't catch the guy who does it, nor does he/she leave any note.

I was wondering when will the performance part is coming out?
Since I'm gonna replace the front bumper, might as well replace it with the new Performance Kit Bumper.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of BMW haters out there for whatever reason. Very sorry, to see that!

Going through the insurance should depend on the cost of repair and your deductable. I agree with UAxDEATH(NYC).

Looks like it is in the center section between bottom grill and center grill, that is where the bumper is (actually a square bar) so you should have it checked as this may not just be cosmetic damage.

Hi Amy. Long time. Hows your ride doing after a couple of weeks of driving it? You bored of it already?
