Question X6M Front Bumber on Normal X6

Hi! When I get my X6, I would like to replace the front and rear bumbers with the X6M bumpers simply because i think they look nicer. (I will not be labeling my car as a X6M !)

Does anyone know if they will fit? Has anyone else thought of doing this?

Rear bumper won't work because there is no space for the exhaust. The rear valance on the rear bumper was also designed for the M's quad exhaust. The Front bumper was also designed with 2 oil coolers in front (if I am not mistaken) which do not exist on your car if you do not have an M. I would not recommend this mod. If you wish to change the front and rear bumper there are many aftermarket manufacturers who can accommodate your need for some personalization.

I prefer to keep BMW parts than to use an aftermarket mod. But sorry i forgot to mention that for the back, i would indeed change the exhaust system to match the X6M. It has to be custom made, but thats ok because i have done that before with my current 535d. the back is exactly the same as a M5.

For the Front bumper, obviously the normal X6 wouldnt have the oil radiators and so it would be empty behind the grill. Thats also ok.

My though was wether the screws of the bumper would fit without modification. i am sure someone will try this soon.

I was thinking about doing this also. You would lose the fog lights, which I'm OK with. My dealer thinks it would be very expensive since they would get the part and have to paint it in-house and make som other custom mods to make it work.

Now if some after-marketer would just do running board replacements I would be happy.
