Have you done any Google searching as to what might cause this error code?

Get a good setup of ISTA and run through the diagnostic measures plans. This will be your best option if you don't want to assume someone else's issue is the same as yours.

I've got an indy going to run it friday.. so I'll see then. It's exhaustive running down codes when one just leads to another. 2eof showed for a shorrt while, went away and now stays. x5 starts like crap then smoothest nicely. Cannot get on it hard then limp mode kicks in. Smooth throttle operation and it runs fine.

Sounds exactly like the symptoms of my E90 when I messed up the vanos timing upon reinstalattion of the head. I cheeped out on the tools and paid the price. Lesson learned there, but I digress.
The vanos system made up for the error with a crappy start which settles smooth then runs like crap unless you ease into it. My point being that the 2eof code points to VVT (vanos) issues. Not spark plugs. EDIT* 2eof is Valvetronic not VANOS related. IDK how I googled that incorrectly. Last edited by jbash87; 01-12-2024 at 12:32 PM.. |

Thank u.. I actually read that and I will 4ward to my indy... he's a thinker. He tries hard not to add to expenses. I'm glad I have someone like him he's my " lessened learned " person. We tried resetting( relearning ) parameters of the valavetronic but it did not work. So as I mentioned I'll see Friday what direction we're headed. Have u ever heard of someone just replacing plugs and that fixed the issue. I read where someone said that worked for them. ??!!!!

Valvetronic code 2e0f - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum. most likely your valvetronic motor position sensor has failed. It's running in 'open loop' with the valvetronic locked at full lift, and using the throttle instead to control the engine. on the N55 you need to replace the valvetronic motor itself.

Thank you. I have an indy doing that as Iwe speak. Do you have idea what the typical life span of the valvetronic is. I run all n55"s...2011 335, both my 2013 x5 are n55' and my 2014 335i is an n55. Thank you for the reply.
