I'd like to do this as well. You would have to dremel the rear valence area around the tailpipes to make it work. I think that's the hesitation most have with this project. Of course you could buy a 50i rear valence or aftermarket.

There's couple options: you can go with aero kit - which can in turn be either oem or aftermarket. I know some people installed aftermarket and they said fitment was good and no major issues. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Aero-L...nd!85308!US!-1
That link is aftermarket aero kit for both front and rear. I also saw just rear kit for $299 or so, but I can't find it right now. Another option is M-Sport - their trapezoids are inverted (upside down) and imho look more aggressive. I can't find non oem kit for that yet. |

replace the valance, it is cheap. Unless your dremel game is strong, but making them both symmetrical would be hard.

Yeah and I'm OCD about that stuff so slightly off would bug me. I wish I liked the aftermarket pieces but I just don't. Look kind of "ricer" to me.

It's possible to do, but that "diaper" thing in the middle instead of sporty fins kinda ruins the looks imho, no? There is option with completely black valence - it looks better, but I haven't seen it on sale yet. |

i like the ebay replica of the oem aero kit. it gives you a better budget option if you want to change to square tips. i am really thinking of getting it on my car. so from cheapest to most expensive you have: ebay replica of oem aero kit, then 50i valance, then real oem aero kit. and this is only for the elite non-m cars like Dush used to say

So the rear lower black trim/valence with trapezoid oem openings is $175 oem from bmw: https://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/...127384333.html
AFAIK it doesn't need paint - it comes black stock. So you can just remove your 35i one and install this stock 50i one. All small reflectors - can be just transferred from your 35i to 50i valence. The only thing is you'll need trapezoid tips and they are kinda expensive: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2014-17...8AAOSwNFFbFOXk Last edited by DuSh; 06-28-2018 at 11:42 AM.. |

Those flaps - you don't have to install them - they are optional, if I'm not mistaken you need o drill holes for them to be installed. So you can just toss them in closet or sell them lol. |

I looked at valence carefully and looks like it does have pre-drilled holes for bolts to secure flaps. However, I think they can be just covered by some black plastic caps color matched to valence.

Not at all pal, in reality, it didn't change the finish at all, if you put side by side a coated and a non-coated kit you would not be able to tell which one is coated and which one is not, until you pour water on them... I did it to try to avoid water spots and stains getting attached to the plastic, seems to be working great! The Carpro CQuartz DLUX ceramic kit I used was only like 45 bucks I believe, not expensive at all in my opinion...
