Anybody get custom painted front grilles from IND?
I have a 2013 X5M and was thinking of replacing the stock front grilles with one in glossy black from IND, but they told me LCI grilles are no longer available from BMW. IND offered to paint mine if I ship it to them.
Has anyone had their grilles painted by IND? If so, how long did it take to get it back? How much did it cost? |

Took mine to BMW dealer and painted for $100. Seemed steep, but couldn't get the new style grills that came with the my 2013 MY.

New style grilles are the LCI grilles. See my pics above.

No, they are different. Look at the lower 1/3 of the fins. They stick out to a point. Came out in 2013, I believe? That's what mine look like stock anyway.

I have a MY13 M Sport that has the same grilles as the M and they don't have a bend in them. Seems strange. Any ideas when they changed? Mine was a February '13 build. I like the "non-bend" version and was planning to buy the BMW Perf black grilles when winter is over.

Looks like the change was for 2013 - not sure exactly when. I have the grilles with the bend - mine is an April 2013 build.

So you're saying that there's a pre-LCI, an LCI, and another LCI (version 2) grille out there from the factory?

No bend in the performance grill. My X6M is a 2013 January build. The one with the bend looks much better IMO. A little wider and much more bolder look

It actually sounds like the new grills were included on the '13 X6 but not the '13 X5.
