x5m dealer reprogrammed -different car
2011 x5m Google send 2 car stopped working . Sos button wouldn't work either .
Dealer ordered new combox & reprogrammed the entire car. (Lost all coding) One thing I noticed right away was the cold star sounded different. It use to start loud then rev down. Now it holds at lower rpm then revs up for a bit but not as loud. Not sure about power but Shift behavior for s and d is dramatically different. D is less aggressive and mileage has gone up from 13.9 to 14.7 in 4 weeks avg. Biggest difference I noticed is when coming to a stop with s mode it's not as crazy on the downshifts from 4 to 3 to 2 to 1. Prior it would downshift from 3 to 2 very high causing a jerking motion so I would always move it to d to come to a stop or paddle shift. Because of this behavior my wife would just about always drive it in d unless passing. Now she drives it in s all the time. M with S still has this behavior which is good for the track or when I need to slow down then accelerate without braking. Prior s and m +s wasn't as different. Overall great update for anyone who hasn't had their car flashed I would recommend this update.

How much did the dealer charge to do the update? My 2011 X5 50i Msport is out of warranty and I would like to get the updated combox...
