Bought an E70 in August 2007. I've had O2 sensors fail, an ignition coil fail, and an oil cooler that failed. A component in an electric circuit caused the X5 to go berserk with bizarre error messages, reaching a point where it could go only forward (no reverse).
All these problems were fixed by the dealership under warranty. Other than that, it's a pleasure to operate. I would buy a new one tomorrow if I could afford it. |

I bought a year 2007 model E70 June 2010. Now I have driven 22 thousand kilometer and everything was worked fine. Only rear fog light was a failed contact, but thats all. I'm very pleased to that car.
But if I compare E70 to my earlier car (E39 M5) I must admit that E39 build quality was better. Maybe BMW has saved materials or someting else, but E39 M5 quality is almost perfect. |
