Interest in RIXX Gauge for E7X

I have approached P3 cars to potentially make some gauges for the x5 and x6 models (35i, 50i and ///M). I had their gauge on my E90 and was very happy.

I created this thread to gauge the level of interest for other folks who may be interested. Please vote yes or no if you would be interested.

Not sure on price (yes this is important) but for comparison purposes, the F10 model is $389, $409 for the E9X model so pricing could be in that neighborhood (not confirmed).

Voted NO because...

projected price point is too high. If it was $200 or (maybe) as much as $250 then it could be a nice feature but at or close to $500, NO WAY!

The vendor has to be incented to make the product. For reference, the competition (for the x6 anyways) makes a centre dash mounted gauge and it costs about 1400 euro. So relatively speaking ,$500 is not a bad deal is it, even if that is the final price (not yet confirmed - but will probably depend on the level of interest).

Also, for about $150-$200, you can get a mechanical boost gauge. The Rixx gauge has an electronic boost/vac reading, plus temp, timing, EGT's (etc etc) built in. Thats where I see the value, beyond its obvious advantage in aesthetics.

I've always found this way of thinking as...short sighted. If you could sell 200 units @ $200/each you would have MORE "incentive" than if you sold 7 (the # of "I would buys in the poll above at the time of this post". Which would provide more incentive to a manufacturer?

I am also a member of a motorcycle forum where a LOT of vendors are. One vendor has offered a "keyless start" modification for non-Harley bikes for about 2 years now and up until ast week he was asking $489/unit. I honestly don't think he has sold more than ten in that time. We started a "group buy" for them and he agreed to drop the price based on the number of interested buyers. He got 30 buyers @ $249/unit. Seems like he figured it out & if he can do it, then other developers could do the same thing, right?

And just in the event that you might want to verify my reference, here it is...

Very cool... keep me posted with this through some pms. I would be interested if we could put some kind of group buy together.

How easy is the install, is there a diy? I don't trust anyone else working on my truck. If I fuck up its on me.

the install is pretty easy - but will ultimately depend on where the data is acquired, ie directly from the engine components (DV) or from the CAN bus network (from the ODB2 port), which is easier.

1k EUR

Here's the email if anyone is interested:
Quote:
Der Preis für das X6 Display liegt bei 990,- EUR inkl. MwSt. Es werden folgende Messwerte ausgegeben:

Kühlwassertemperatur
Motoröltemperatur (über externen, mitgelieferten Sensor)
Geschwindigkeit (inkl. Vmax)
Längs- und Querbeschleunigung
Beschleunigungsmessung 0-100 / 0-200 km/h
Drehmoment
Leistung in PS
Diagrammdarstellung von PS und Drehmoment
Ladedruck

Sorry to bump such an old thread but has there been any movement on this project? I had a p3cars gauge in my F30 335 and would love to get one for my E70.
