I would suggest contacting them through email or the contact form on their site. They are pretty quick to answer. I contacted them when their Android app would keep force closing and they already had a new version uploaded to the Google play store.

Roger that, used their Contact Us form on their website before posting here. Nothing yet; I figured out the majority of the idiot lights were from the steering angle sensor needing calibrated (turn all the way to the left, then turn all the way to the right - voila, all 4wd/TC/ABS lights off) but I'm still trying to figure out if I need to train the car to the new battery or not.

Battery registration is a $5 or $10 upgrade. You can do it from Google Playstore or the Apple equivalent.
Edit: You purchase the battery registration upgrade from within the app.

It needs a few hours for the reprogramming on this module to be complete. I coded mine and then tried it multiple times and eventually gave up. In the morning it worked just fine.

Yup as he said. You have to wait a few hours for the change to happen. Check all 3 boxes and come back the next day to test

Anyone know if you can get the driver side mirror to tilt down while in reverse or is it just the passenger mirror?

I think only the passenger mirror tilt is an option. I received my iOS 2nd Gen adapter the other day and have run into a couple of issues: 1. I'm still waiting for the mirror folding when locking from the fob. It's been a couple of days, but still, no folding. Do I need to check anything else other than that one option? 2. I'm still waiting for the rear hatch close to work on the fob. It works from the console. When I hit the fob, I hear a brief servo noise from the hatch, but still no close. Any thoughts? BTW, the DVD function is pretty cool, even if the picture is somewhat cropped...

Now I've lost functionality of the tailgate altogether-both with the console button and the fob. Help! I tried resetting the HKL settings, but it didn't help. I've e-mailed Carly Coding, but they're not that responsive...

They are pretty good about responding so don't worry. They have multiple emails addresses and I can forward you all them if you PM me. As far as the coding is concerned, have you tried restoring your backup file that is automatically created at the beginning of the coding session? It sounds like you did something that counteracted the commands, but I'm not 100%. Let me know if that works brother.

I believe there were two places that you had to check the box and they may have not been in the same module. I will check for you.

I tried selecting a backup file from the other day, but wasn't able to load it for some reason...

Glad you got it worked out. In regards to the mirror folding upon vehicle locking for others - there are 2 modules that you have to code to be able to get it active. CAS and FRM both have boxes that must be checked in order to get that function to work. In CAS you can code more specifics as to the duration of pressing the lock button for the mirrors to fold. I have mine set to 0 seconds (instant folding upon lock). Hope this helps.

Are they still not at a spot yet where we can reset adaptation values for transfer case?

Doubtful, but you should give them a call at the technical number on their website. They are super friendly, and seem to be always working on enhancements. I'm sure they'd like to hear everyone's ideas. As a side note, it amazes me how such an overengineered vehicle could have such few user-adjustable parameters within it's user settings, at least for the U.S. market. Thank goodness for folks like Carly.

So buy the adapter, with a $5 discount code = $70.

Buy the iOS app = $49 after taxes

Code trunk, took all of 3 minutes to work. Good stuff. Not sure why it may have taken "hours," for others. Literally 1min for carly to connect to car, change setting, write config, and about 3min, it was working.

Code DVD in motion. Arghh.. Another $15. But it seems like battery registration is now free.

Ultimately it's about the same price as a local or remote coder. But now when BMW writes over my coding, I can fix it on my own, without paying twice. So in the long term it's a win I guess....

I got fed up with all the other extra fees so I bought myself a obd2 cable and try coding. I was finally able to get it to work so I have two tools for coding. I'll still use carly for reading engine codes on the fly when I don't have my laptop with me.

anyone here tried carista vs carly?

carly is about $70 for the hardware and $53 for the app via playstore.

carista is about $40 for the hardware and the app is free.

is there a big difference between the 2?

Perhaps I could offer that, but I've got two very young children, a wife and dog... I simply don't want to advertise out my time like that.

I looked into the coding myself route.. But that german software and poorly written directions scared the crap out of me. The various DIY's are so incomplete and usually for a different car, that I said F it, just pay for it...

Longer story long, I had a local do my coding initially. Great guy, paid over $100. He came to my home. He's on this forum I think, or at least known here for local and remote coding. Well had some warranty work done, and all of that work was wiped out. Asking to have it re-done, was still going to cost about $100, getting a "deal," as a repeat customer. Thus why I spent what I did with the Carly setup.

Warranty work also messed up my Cobb tune. Best practice, unmarry accessport before each service! Cobb had to re-issue a license for my accessport and I could reuse it again.
