Playing video from iphone 5s

Does anyone have the answer to playing videos from the iphone 5s?
So here's my situation:

My 13 X5M has the CIC headunit, so no video available from the USB hub. I have the snap-in media adapter for the iphone, only to find out later that the iphone 5 is not capable of playing (sending out) the video signal ! ?

I have searched many threads and forums... but still my dilemma remains. Yes, I do have a DVD player but burning DVDs has its limits too...

Any apps that allows the i5 to play video in the headunit? Or any other advice? I am seriously considering trading my 5s for my son's old iphone 4!

Keep the 5S. No need to trade, iPhone 4's go for less than 50 bucks used here in Vancouver so I'm guessing it cost may even less in the US.

This is the conclusion I have arrived at as well...
I will use the 64gb 4 for all music and videos and just leave it in the cradle, and keep the 5. Probably the easiest solution...
