Yep what he said... I went through all the different settings during lunch and that light serves no purpose... Oh BMW lol

For each bulb you'd also need a ballast, plus I believe there's DOT regulation about how many low/high beam light sources are allowed.

In earlier days, there was a need for a dedicated high-beam halogen lamp as xenons were slow to ignite/come to full strength, so extra halogens were used for DRL and 'flashing'.
