Whistle sound before switching gear

Hi guys,
sorry to hear you have this problem....I have it in my 2011 e92 335i Xdrive, it has the N55 engine.
The dealer changed a valve on the vacuum line to no avail. no solution yet after 4 months. BMW Canada knows about the problem, they tried changing the vacuum line - to no avail again.
The car has been in the shop at least 3 times...too bad no lemon law in Canada!?
It could be an N55 specific problem as I have a 2010 X6 35i with N54 and it does not have the problem. to clarify, the whistle comes on when I lift off the gas pedal (the car is manual).

Keep us all updated, may be a solution will surface and we all benefit from it.

I just got my X6 back, it was in the shop from Sept 14th - 26th. Parts had to come from Germany and thats why there was a delay. Under description of work it states, " Found cat conv material in exh B1. Rem cat convs to inspect, only B1 faulty. 2ndary cat damaged by cat material. Repl cat conv B1. Repl exh cat w/pipe cyl 1-3. Clear faults. Test Drove". The car has stopped making the noise for now and hopefully for good. If I can be of any help to others please let me know. Possibly I could e-mail the repair order and you could visit your dealer with it. Best, Brian

Unfortunately no, the dealers have given up on me.
They said the sound is normal.
