High Frequency sound

I have this high frequency sound in my X635d coming up at around 60 kmt.
Sounds like turbo sound but it is not. This sound has a more or less constant frequency and you can hear it at around 60 kmt and up with no or little acceleration ( idle or slight running engine at 60+) and engine speed 12000 - 18000 prm.
I have had it for the last year but now i want to dig into it.

Any ideas?

BMW take this on warranty. Car has only 20 000 km on speedo.
This is the adaptive drive differential.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but where did you hear the noise coming from? Front or rear? I have had the same problem and I identify that the noise was coming from the front right wheel. Could be either a bearing or differential...
