Launch Control

So I was attempting to do a second launch in my M yesterday and I couldn't get it to do it a second time so I was just wondering if there is some safety thing set up to prevent you from doing back to back launches? I even waited few minutes and still couldn't get it to work.

you have to put the shifter back into drive first. then move it back to manual mode and go through the launch control sequence

You may be holding the LC too long thus overheating the torque converter (I assume there is some safety protocol that disables the LC if the torque converter gets too hot).

If I use LC (which is not very often, and almost never back to back), I try to get on the gas very close to when I plan on launching it...so to say, anticipating the green light or the x-mas tree. I don't hold the revs for longer than a couple of seconds.

Here's an example of it...I shot this a while back with a smashed camera lens on my phone so it's a bit fuzzy but you'll get the idea...
