X6 19" wheels offset question
Hello guys
Anyone knows what the offset is for standard BMW X6 wheels 19"? (rear/front) Also what is the maximum offset for this car (again rear/front)? Many thanks |

Ok, to answer my question. I have found out that BMW has a cleaver strategy now.
They deliberately make a bore diameter different on the rear axle so that the wheels from E70 (X5) are not gonna fit the X6(E71). At least this statement is valid for a European model (not sure about the American one). Just to recap: Front axle - max offset is determined by a wheel width and for, say, 285 tyres(9.5J) is 28mm The bore diameter is 72mm (standard for most BMWs) Rear axle - max offset is determined by a wheel width and for, say, 285 tyres (10.5J) is 8mm (for 335 tyres(12J) is 23mm). The bore diameter is 74mm!!!! Again the above offsets have been approved by the German TUV and are subject to tyre width and alloy structure (deepness of the dish, etc.). For some 23" alloys the rear max offset can be even negative!!! |
