Hey guys i dont post here much im more of a lurker picking up knowledge but i picked up A brand new X6 5.0 titanium silver exterior and saddle brown interior. The car came with the higher sport package with adaptive drive and 20inch rims and all of that. Well the car stock is definatly a beast and a beauty! but i had to put my own touch on it.
My car is currently in the shop scheduled for pickup on friday or saturday. List of mods going on (for now) Tints(30%) Matte black grills with high gloss black trim (OEM Europe part) RDsports ECU Tune (+93 hp/85lb/ft of Torque) RDsports Lowering kit ( 2.0 inches in front 1.2 in rear) Changing step-tronic paddles from pull/push - downshift/upshift to left being only down and right only being up no matter which way the paddle is pushed/pulled ! LED AngelEyes - i am waiting back for a response from the manuf. as im demoing there product and am getting a discounted price - LED 6000K lights This all should be done by friday or Saturday! Id like to give a big thank you to AutoCouture motoring in Hillsdale,NJ for providing me with all the service and parts as well as consulting me on many diffrent areas of my car. Ive been dealing with the owner Sal whos a great guy and actaully made the adapter kit for the paddles himself! anyone in the NY/NJ area looking to mod there car should def give him a call you can PM me for info. Also like to thank RDSports and the rep Federico i worked with theyve been nothing but great during the whole process and were always there for me on the phone when i hit them with my one billion questions! DK35 - well the shop I used (autocouture motoring) is based out of Hillsdale,NJ in northern NJ off exit 167/168 on the garden state parkway soo I don't know if that convient for wherever in NY you are but if it is and you can make it there you won't be dissapointed! The owner used to be a head tech at Paul Miller BMW and will take great care of your car and is veryyy knowledgeable! So PM me if you need info
As far as dyno'ing the car ... Yes eventually I do want to but I have a couple other mods (that I will list later) that I want completed and get atleast 200-300 miles on the new ECU to fully adapt before I put it on a dyno! |

Did you DYNO the car in completely stock form first to see what your true HP gain will be? I would be interested to see if these tunes that are claiming 93HP are getting anywhere near this kind of gain in reality. Also, it seems to me like you would need to add other mods such as larger intercooler, oil cooler, etc. to prevent unwanted damage to your engine with stocks parts.

I would like to see pictures , interested on how the grill looks ( just change mine to chrome trim, flat black on space gray) . Since the bulbs for daytime/driving are so easy to access ( just twist off cover) I decided to skip angel eyes and just swap out the bulbs with ones from e92 lighting, give blueish tint to them. Also swapped fog lights to match.
Sounds like you have some good guys to work with are they strictly aftermarket craftsman or are did you buy the car from them also? definately want to see pictures. |

Shenard - No I didn't get a chance to dyno the car in complete stock form as i only had the car for a few weeks before i put it into the shop monday! But i figured i can play off other dyno sheets to see the gains. Even though no 2 cars are exactly the same its better then nothing , just didn't have the time or right resources to get it on a dyno .. And I know a few people running the JB3 Upgrade on there x6 3.5's and they are running fine after having it on for a while and as we all know the JB3 adds about 100 hp and the 50i's come from the factory with more cooling capacity then the 35i's. If worst comes to worst i heard through the grapevine that RD is developing a Intercooler for release soon so that can be accommodated
Dmlgc - Yes ill def try to get some pics up here by Monday as Im getting my car Friday/Saturday and want to enjoy my tune a bit before snapping pictures I actually wasn't planning on getting the angel eyes but when i was offered the discounted price for demoing I couldnt turn it down! Maybe my post was a little confusing. I bought the car at Paul Miller BMW in Wayne,NJ. Coincidentally the tuner i decided to go with was a head tech at the same dealership but decided to break off with them a year ago and start his own Aftermarket shop! Can't say enough about them they have been great whether it was prices or just knowledge about BMW's I can say i feel 100% confident with my car in there hands. |

UPDATE : we changed the pickup date to monday since there is going to be a HUGE snow storm out here in the NJ area and I dont think driving with 500hp and summer tires is the best idea! So were playing it safe and shooting for monday!

As I mentioned earlier i wasn't planning on doing the angel eyes now but the guys who are doing my car (AutoCouture) called me saying he has a buddy who's making them for the x6 and wanted somebody to demo them before starting to produce them on a big scale. He offered me the discount price and I took his offer. I got a call from them yesterday saying they wont be ready for another 3 weeks but the deal is still on! I still am not sure who the actual manuf. is T__T AutoCouture would know tho so try shooting him a PM

Man, that looks great. Do you have anymore pictures? How did you tint your rear lights? Also would like to know what wheel and tire size are you running and if you are running any spacers? I hope to receive a reply. Thank you.

We used spray tint. We found it to be the best for this application. |
