Cool X6M - Winter Set Installed Today!

After a lot of waiting I got the 298M set put on by BMW today.
They are brushed aluminum with a little //M badge and look amazing. The ride is very smooth on the freezing snowless roads so far. I can't wait for lots and lots of snow now!!!
I will take some pictures tomorrow when it's bright outside.

My set came with Goodyear Ultra Grip 255/50/19s instead of Continentals. I asked the technicians why that was the case and they said that those are the new recommended tires for the winter for the M suvs. I was a bit surprised to hear about the change, however the tread on them looks pretty badass so hopefully they will grip the snow and ice very well.

Cmon dude, why you just gotta post text, get some pics up here. These forums are starting to get boring with everyone posting without more pics We need visuals. FFS its almost 2010 and this is the best we got, a message board with plain text...

artrosis, patience is a virtue It isn't my fault that its -10C and pitch black outside.

Anyway here are some pictures of the snow tires and one of how tight my garage is.

Nice work, Mike!!

You've basically saved me the trouble of posting pics of Mary's X6 - our is identical to this one, including the OEM BMW winter wheels (with Continentals, though - I find it strange, too, that your dealer provided the Goodyears - I'm sure they will be awesome, too, though), we of course have no front plates here, and we have rear side window sun blinds.

Nice, nice, NICE, Mike!

Thanks

The pics of the rims on the BMW website look like a very light colored aluminum alloy. The rims on the vehicle look absolutely gorgeous on your car and are darker than I thought. Thanks for the wonderful pics.

Thumbs down

Update

Immediately, I started to feel like the winter set was not as smooth as the summers. I spoke to a lot of people about the difference in ride quality and they told me that wide winter tires will feel weird. I spoke to BMW and they said the same thing. After 200km I disagreed and went to see my dealer and told them that it must be a balancing issue. After arguing a bit they said they would check.

Two of the (brand new, expensive) rims were not balanced right!
How does a dealership make such a mistake?!! Everything is fine now, but soon I will start invoicing BMW for wasting my time with little problems like this!
