Tire size
Hi Gents,
Just picked up a 2010 X6 50i. Very happy with it. Got all options including the performance upgrade(BTW it's well worth the money). Black with red interior. My only mistake was NOT getting the 20' rims. I was worried about potholes in Houston. I ordered rims that are due here tomorrow but I have a question about the rim size and sidewall. I noticed BMW puts 40 or 35 side walls on it's 20' rim. I'm confused about this, i thought the rolling diameter should stay the same? The 19' inch rim has 255/50? So I ordered 20' 275/45. Will this be ok? I wanted a more agressive rim and tire but not to the point of fraking out everytime I hit a pothole. Thank you for your input! |

Tyre size depends on your alloys. If you have 10Jx20" alloys around then you have several options:
a) 275/40/20 all tyres or b) 275/40/20 - FA 315/35/20 - RA The tyre profile depends on width (as you can see from above). The second setup (b) is quite comfortable even if you have potholes. I would not recommend to go higher than 20" The 19" rims have 255/50/19 tyres |
Appreciate
