Question regarding bmw dealer...
My situation is my car got engine warning light on, so I went to the dealer, they kept my for nearly two weeks... When I got my car back, I found 200 miles increased on the clock.. is it normal for checking engine warning light?

By policy that have to ask to drive it more than a couple of miles. If I were you, I'd have a serious talk with the service manager.

200 is way too much, I think they were joy riding with your car.
I would complain to BMW, since they are the one that develops the procedures for any repairs on their cars and know exactly how much it should have been driven. |

My question . . . If this was a BMW dealer, why would they be interested in joy riding your car, when they work with similar cars every single day? Your car really isn't all that special to them.

not that many X6's around, they don't get to drive an X6 very often. If you have driven an X6 and other BMWs you know it's not similar. doesn't really matter what they were doing with it, 200 miles for a test drive is outrageous. |

Highly suspicious!
What t kind of work did they do in the 2 weeks?
That's 10 work days @ 20 miles /day average test drive? There's no way that they need to drive that much to diagnose/test drive when they can plug the engine to a computr. |

originally, it's only for warning light check, 2 days later they told me the bumper has been scratched while parked in the customer car park...so the rest of days they have done some body work...actually they said my car will be unavailable until next week..so I complained to the head of service, then I got my car in the same day...I dont know where should I complain to now.... seems really useless...
