Factory Tour

On our drive down the eastern US coast with our X6, we decided to swing by the factory in South Carolina. What a tour. We were taken around the plant and watched X5s and X6's being built from beginning to end..What a treat. Loved seeing cars being made for other markets. ( I noticed a very different looking Right hand drive X5 and was told it was a M bodywork package for Asian markets. Well worth the trip over.

didn't look for this until I read the trhead. Under media resource center it will even tell you how many X6 they made for the past week. 8/25/2008 they made 980 X6s.

kinda interesting. Looks like they are still making 2 1/2 to 3 times more X5's than X6's.

Great information... Our Tour is not for another 50+ days but I can Not wait!

At the end of the tour we were directed to a readout that showed how many cars had been built that day, how many were scheduled to be produced and the on target %. Daily output is approx 600 cars.
