E70 tailgate automatically lifting up.
My e70 does not have the auto tailgate function, but I want to integrate a kicks switch under the bumper so the tailgate lifts up alone.
The kick switch would be useless if the tailgate does not open all the way up alone because I’d still have to manually lift it. Has anyone added springs to the tailgate struts to help open it? Once it’s lifted a little bit, it rises by itself. The e90 owners do this to their trunk struts. I can’t find any info for e70. https://emeraldstruts.com/products/e90-92-bmw I don’t think this would affect the soft close latch either, would it? Thanks.
