Disabling Automatic Steering Wheel Entry/Exit Feature
Has anyone ever figured out how to disable this feature, besides paying the dealer? I hate that my wheel moves every time I exit and enter-it's so unnecessary!

Thanks. Is that a dealer-only situation, or is there a workaround?

There is a work around: find someone to code it for you.
I am in the Chicago Burbs and I have seen a few coding events... Many "coders" can even do it remotely. Check some forums, either here or any of the other BMW Forums. |

The dealer should be able to do it as well.

Hi @All
I´m searching for a matching coding-entry to disable the automatic steering-column movement. In my E71 -2012 i have comfort-seats ( Module FAS) an Active Steering (Module ASA). Already tried some possibilities, but didn´t had success. :-( Is there somebody here who is so friendly to share some info´s ? Thanks in advance. |

I hope i found it, how to code it.
Today i read a lot in the RHEINGOLD documentation, where i found the hint, that the automatic steering-column movement is controlled by the IHKA-Module. O.K., made a deeper look through the functions in IHKA. Then found: Code:
ELSV_EH_LAENGE ELSV_EH_NEIGUNG That must be it !! In germany it´s already past midnight. So, tomorrow i will check and report. |

SOLVED !! Works like a charme.
You can still adjust the steering wheel on the control lever in length and height. Also the memory function - in combination with comfort seats - works. But the automatic steering column movement for "Easy Exit / Entry" has gone. Quote:

I asked carly if they would offer the entry/exit disable option for coding in their next release. Thanks Seppl-Fahrer for finding the functions, that is what I sent them.

Thanks for doing this! I would love if the smart folks at Carly would work this into a future release.

Glad I'm not the only one who is annoyed by too much "comfort".
With NCSExpert it is only a one minute affair, because you only have to change "aktiv" to "nicht_aktiv" in the TRC-file, save it as MAN-file and write it back to IHKA-module. |

I've got NCSExpert as well. I've got an old Dell D630 dedicated strictly to coding I bought for converting my E38 from an auto to a 6spd, unfortunately I haven't finished the swap and have no clue how to use the laptop :-)
