Has anyone used FCP Euro? Lifetime warranty on BMW OEM parts, even oil
I was browsing Facebook and saw this ad for FCP Euro. They pride themselves on their "lifetime gurantee" on all of their parts they sell, even oil. It's not like a return policy where stores usually don't like customers returning their merchandise, they encourage it. Has anyone had any experience with them? Seems too good to be true!

Not to good to be true, I'm sure many people do take advantage of the policy, and you have to be the original owner of the car to exchange the item. For example, I replaced the brakes and rotors on my e46 from their kit online, and I was able to return my old brakes and rotors. I was shocked, great policy, just not many people take advantage of it. I couldn't imagine returning oil, or even spark plugs, but many parts will outlast the owner which is why many people don't take advantage of it.
It's the only website I use now. |

I've used FCP Euro for years. Only complaints, their free shipping option takes 10 to 14 days many times and they are hit and miss for the best price online.
Didn't know they price match; thanks damageprone. Guess you have to phone the order in for that. ECSTuning and Pelican are my other go-to choices; both have very fast free shipping. Pelican tends to be the most expensive and does not offer free shipping on all items. The FCP Euro warranty used to only be on items installed by a certified mechanic; you had to have proof of this. It changed a few years ago now, but since then I have yet had an item over the cost of shipping to return. Definitely worth it in many cases if you hold on to your car.

I used FCP Euro extensively while fixing up my E30. I don't even look anywhere else unless they just don't have the part I'm looking for.

Used them to fix up my old e46. I'm only a state over so shipping was fast for me. I've used the warranty and its pretty hassle free. Fill out a form, ship it out, and get a credit on your account. I think you have to reference both order numbers on the return.

I use FCPEuro often, well when you have BMW out of warranty who doesn't
Their price is very good, and they have both BMW OE and OEM parts so you can choose. Never had a chance to claim free-replacement yet. |

Been using them for a while but haven't had used the free replacement yet.
I don't think I have the shame to use it for oil changes, I might try it for brake parts, but that problem with that is it would probably be years before I wear out new brakes which I haven't needed yet.

I guess you need to be prepared for some downtime with your car when going through FCP replacement warranty.
Say you purchased a water pump form FCP, and the pump fails three years down the road. Your car is on the side of the road. How does the whole thing work? Do you have to remove the water pump from the car then ship it to them and then they send you the replacement new one. That's easy week to two weeks of downtime for me considering I am ordering from Canada. The idea is lucrative and I'd say in favor of US citizens, but even then you would have some downtime up to a week. In that week you will need to get a rental car, deal with towing. The cost will still add up. Edit: Some questions are answered here https://www.fcpeuro.com/page/lifetime-guarantee Last edited by Wolf 335; 06-13-2017 at 09:21 AM.. |

My friend brought this policy to my attention recently. I work 10 minutes away from these guys.
I'll be purchasing my next oil change kit from them. Then on my second, I'll bottle up the old oil, drop it off to them and get my $80 back. Same goes for track pads, rotors etc. pretty epic business policy. |

I bought "lifetime warranty" front axles for my Audi from Raxles, they failed I tried to use the warranty but problem was if you use needed to use the car daily it was almost impossible to make it worth the trouble. File a claim, remove the axles from the car, send them to Raxles (I think buyer pays shipping each way), they evaluate the axles and fix or replace them and send them back to you. Car is down for at least a couple of weeks and with a lot of hassles, then they don't pay labor. Also, when I first called them they told me the axles couldn't have failed so quickly and it had to be something else. Told me to run a number of checks and me or someone needed to check all of the suspension components and bushings. Bought new OEM axles and threw theirs away (problem solved and for many years so it was the axles). Warranty was close to useless unless you had another car to drive. I would check out the details of the warranty and figure out how you would use it before counting on in it to be of value. I bought a $20 box fan recently that came with a "lifetime warranty". If it failed I just needed to pay shipping to and back from their facility. I guess "Lifetime Warranty" looks good on the box....

I'm sure some bright minds will abuse the hell out of the system and they will have to drop their warranty... |
