Car and Driver Long Term Test
Summary comments from several of the authors:
"It’s the unfailing utility of a camel and the blinding speed of a cheetah in a silhouette that bears minor resemblance to both but somehow still looks great. It’s completely nonsensical but so good at everything that it doesn’t matter. It’s the ultimate automotive non sequitur, but above all, it is good." "We remain seduced by the Vermilion Red thunder barge’s indulgent comfort, tremendous power, rollicking exhaust roar, and reality-distorting agility." "So our big red BMW is still a pricey sled, but we’re finding we care less about understanding it and more about the enjoyment to be had driving it. " "So far in our hands, the X6 has presented precisely zero practical arguments for its existence, but it’s fast, it’s capable, and we like driving it more than any other 5000-pounder we’ve driven. What is it with these guys , why don't they just admit the have a bone on about BMW. I could come up with a huge list of cars that aren't practical, only hold two people, etc (Ferrari,Porsche come to mind) but are fun to drive. |
