07 x5 electrical problem rear park lights

so i have no power to the drivers side running/marker lights in the rear. brake lights work fine.did some digging found the light in the hatch drivers side had melted the 2 wires for the running lights so diconnected those 2 . the light in the body still did not light up the running lights i can power with a power probe all light functions in the light work that tells me light itself is good.the wiring schematic shows the body taillight gets power for the running lights from the hatch light from the yellow/black so i power probed 12v to yellow/black hatch light plug then the body taillight runners lite up.so my question is did the hatch light melting fry the light module cause i am not getting 12v from the black/white wire from light module to the hatch light plug .as soon as i can get the hatch light from bmw i will replace it.
