iPod Adaptor
I'm confused...I just custom ordered my X6 and couldn't figure out if the Premium Package with iPod adaptor is the same as the iPod "Interface" adaptor sitting in the accessories area???
It seems that the iPod Interface Adaptor is designed to navigate the iPod from the radio interface, and the Premium Package iPod Adaptor only plays the music from the iPod without navigation control. Am I wrong? Last edited by Jonstaman; 09-18-2010 at 10:45 PM.. |

You're wrong
You need the special cable from BMW to control the ipod from the main system. I have the premium package and you can control the ipod from the system. |

1. You wont be able to play back DRM purchased itunes content 2. Generally it's slower to navigate through a large music collection as the single USB connection is being used for control and music data playback. |

If your car is built after October 1, you will not need the Y-cable. You'll just plug a standard USB Ipod cable into the car. If it's built before October 1, it will come with the Y-cable. This is assuming, of course, that the car has the premium sound package.
