My new X6 is arrives in about 9 weeks and I'm also worried about the rattle stuff. At the moment I drive a Toyota Avensis Combi and the nois was one matter to change the car. A lot of people told me, that the manufacturing quality of BMW is much better than from Toyota. If I read this thread I'm not sure about that.
Otherwise the Toyota forums are full of rattle and problem threads. Here I just can find less of them. So I think BMW is has really a better quality. |

Noise from the trunk lid
I had the same problem on my X6 2010. After many visits to the dealer, they fixed the problem and replaced both mounts on the rear McPherson struts / shock absorbers. Since than the noise is gone.
Prior to that, they adjusted the lock, hinges, replaced the two shocks on trunk lid. |
