Is my combox dead? no bluetooth

I bought this 2011 BMW X5 (E70) used and the bluetooth has never worked, all the controls are in the steering wheel and center console but, doesn't even show up as an option onscreen. Do I need to replace the combox in the left rear of the car or did it never have Bluetooth?

Use the VIN decoder on your car to see if it has the BMW bluetooth audio streaming. Its possible it has only basic bluetooth.

I've ordered a vin check, I have no idea which website to use so I hope I didn't waste my or your time. I really only want the handsfree phone to connect via bluetooth as I usually have satellite radio on (I'm old). I really just want to get the phone working. Any tips? I appreciate you responding!
