Totally last minute purchase... deposit on 2011 X6 xdrive50.. TUNE?

Is there a tune for this baby? I had a 335 with a JB4 ..... looking to put a tune, and trying to see what's out there.

VELOS
EUROCHARGED
ESS

Did I forget one? I know Dinan, but can anyone post up cost for the Dinan?

Dinan's stage 2 tune is $3,500 pluas 1 hour labor to install. I did not do any research on Eurocharged; but, I have heard many good things about Velos and ESS. The difference in cost for Dinan is really about the Dinan provided warranty. You need to make a choice on whether it is worth it to pay $2000 for Dinan's warranty.

For me, it was. Circle BMW in NJ is a Dinan dealer. When you get your tune installed, you will get a Circle BMW invoice. If I have an issue, I can bring it back to Circle BMW and let them figure out who covers the warranty repairs, BMW NA or Dinan.

You can't go far wrong with Velos, ESS or Dinan (I don't know enough about Eurocharged to make a comment.) You just need to decide if the piece of mind of a Dinan warranty is worth it.

Good luck, I know you will love the tune.

I got ESS on my Activehybrid, no complaints. The tune is great, tons of power and customer service is top notch.

Im a dinan customer here i installed exhaust intercoolers and stage 4, on my x5 50i let me tell u something yes it did cost a lotta money but i do like that if something breaks ill drive it to bmw and i dont need to worry about anything. Im pushing 531hp and 590lbs. I still haven't it dyno yet but its a big difference just from driving alone. Ppl look at me on the highway and say wtf do u have. My latest one was with s55 amg 2011 guy came at me at the end of our lil highway chase and said do u know how i feel right now that a family suv car just rip me a new hole. Lmaoo

May I ask why did you bother with the intercoolers if you live in NY? Isn't this mainly for warm weather climates?

Yes u are correct but now a days u never know if u live in ny, did u forget the weather we had this summer? I had them installed in july and to be honest my coolant fan was on less often ever since i had them installed. And now that its a lil cooler at night the car reacts faster due to having cooler air coming in. Plus with intercooler and software u bump up another 20hp

I'm in the same boat. There are a lot of claims but also a lot of confusion - at least for me over which version of the N63 these tuners are using.

And it appears none of the customers are verifying the gains on a dyno. It just 'feels faster'.

I'd like to see a customer with a 400HP N63 with baseline and tuned charts.

I'm also a huge fan of the JB platform and ran it on my 335i for 4 years without a hiccup, I wish Terry would move to a Stage 2 module. I need more than 25whp.
