Temp. Too high drive moderatly?

Hey guys I have a problem with my X6. I got this error message suddenly once I start the engine "Tempreture too high please drive moderatly, etc" it keep appearing everytime I switch the engine on,,, the temp level is normal,, Can anyone provide me with any feedback? Thank you,

Sounds like a faulty sensor if it happens as soon as the engine is started, if it appeared after driving for some time there may be an issue with the cooling system but id say its a buggered sensor.

I received this message just after doing the BMW performance upgrade (car had been i garage all night and temp was at the bottom) , they stated they replaced a sensor, this was after replacing the backup pump&lines for the turbos along with one of the turbos.

I suspect it was related more to the reprogramming of the car for the performance upgrade.

Thanks guys for your reply,, its only appearing once the engine starts, then it disappear after couple of seconds,, I hope its only sensor's fault,,
