a HUGE oil leak - vacuum control AGR
Hello again,
I have an x5 35d 2012 model. Decided to replace the glow plugs, and glow control unit/model (getting an error code 494a) When I got the manifold of- I noticed that there is a lot of oil, on the electrical connectors, pressure converter, and the control model. My question is- how to clean it? WD40 contact cleaner? Break cleaner? However, is there any way to save the connectors? Or they are dead? Thanks in advance! |

I think , specifically for the connectors, you can find and use an electrical cleaner. There is one made by CRC that shows the connectors on the label.
Check your glow plug module as well

Breakcleaner and a diesel is nog a very good combination, espacialy on the plastic parts. I did that, and after a day of drying the engine went ballistic (extreem high rpm’s due to breakcleaner residue)
I looks like you had a leaking inlet over a long time. But what could work, close the intake holes, use a good decreaser i don’t no if u could get “Dasty” over there that stuff is amazing. Than spray with hot water to clean. |

I'll try to combine Diesel and brake cleaner, thanks! However, I read on the internet- that these leaks were caused by a bad cylinder head cover gasket(the coolant also was mixed with oil..) I have a lot of work to do with this car I'll check for Dasty, thanks again! |
