Parking brake failure just after getting new airbags

I left my car into Bavarian BMW today as part of a vehicle recall for new airbags. When I drove away and parked up I got a alert to say my parking brake had failed - is there anyway this could be related? I plan to phone the garage tomorrow to get more details and to see if this happened whilst they had my car but I wanted to know if this could have been caused by the work they carried out. My cut instinct is no but want to get with the community first

By my change of airbags, they took the middle console out, there is a connector for the parkingbrake.

But thats a long shot, because when not connected it would not work at all.

Do U use the parking brake normaly when you park the car?

Yeah it is not working at all, I've even tried the reset suggestion on this forum & youtube but I'm just getting the same failure
