Key Fob won't hold a charge

Has anyone else had this problem? My key fob is no longer holding a charge. Therefore, I can't unlock and lock my doors remotely unless I've just been driving it. It will lock (sometimes) after a drive when it's gotten some juice out of the port.

Has anyone been able to repair this on their own, or am I facing another trip to the dealership?

thanks

I changed my battery recently, on my own, after getting a prompt about a low key battery on the dash. It was just a standard button battery I picked up at bestbuy.

Not the same?

non-comfort access keyfobs are different and the only way to replace the battery is to splice the fob. Not an easy DIY.

you have comfort access?

lol...nevermind, I'm an idiot. just cracked it open and realized it's like any other fob. Just needs a new battery.

If you have comfort access you can replace the battery.
Without comfort access the FOB gets charged through induction in the ignition.

I guess some people got confused because you wrote:
