Hazed headlights

Mine is to the point where you almost can't see thru it ! I hate the plastic shit. Any one recommend a product that really works ? I've seen my friends struggle with diff auto store products,,look great for a month and then back to same poop. I hate to even look up how expensive replacements are...thx all

Try flouride toothpaste. Seems to work. You might need couple of large tubes

theres a bunch of videos on yotube that show how to do this.

start off by wet sanding with 400 grit. work your way up to 2000. then bust out machine polisher or a drill with polisher attachment and polish/compound th lens. when you are done with this step, they should look very clear. the last step, which most people skip, is either get the lamin-x film and apply them over the headlights or take them to an autobody shop and have them clear coated.

Try polishing them, like the same way you would the paint. Helped my e39 for a while.

New lenses sounds like the fix you want. Your required to cut off the old lenses, dig out all the chucks, then fit these in place. What sucks is removing headlights on the X5 requires removal of the fender/bumper which is kinda annoying.

Like someone mentioned above, If your going to do the wet sanding method, clear coating after is going to be the best way to stop the hazing from returning. Haze always comes back if you don’t in my experience.

Harbor Freight sells a kit for 15$ ... works great. If they're really bad, consider picking up some sandpaper with rougher grit to do some initial decontamination.

https://www.harborfreight.com/deluxe...tem-62663.html this kit is similar to the brand name ones that sell for $30-$45++

I just used this yesterday and one side came out amazing on step 3. The other side I ended up sanding a second time and refinishing. If you go with it; on step 3 before you ever touch the sealer to the towel, do a mock run of how you're going to apply the sealer.

It looks SUPERB when completed correctly though. I wish I had had the wherewithal to take a before and after shot.

+1
Based on a magazine review of comparable alternatives, I used the Sylvania system too. Worked quite well. Only had the X5 for a few more months before a deer strike totalled it, but I noticed zero degrading in that brief time.
