Dealer Exchange window trim ?
Called the dealer.. The cost for the chrome trim for both sides is $1,200...(will be less if part of the buying deal)...+ some labor...
Not too bad , I thought.... Question: would you trust the dealer to exchange the shadowline trim and replace it with the chrome? (snaps on ??) what about possible scratches or not adhering as well... I am always worried when things are not from the factory... I guess the B pilar will remain with the glossy black trim... probably better that way ..no ? Thoughts? |

$1200 + labor?
Call the option police. There is something wrong in trim land. The trim for both sides is worth about $50. I could see the dealer charging $150 per side for $300 total. And then 2 hours per side for labor @$125 per hour. I come up with $800 installed. even than too much for me to even consider the switch. I say save the loot for something else or get a quote at a body shop. The dealer is clearly marking up the trim which should not cost more than a couple hundred dollars.

What about the actual work to do it ? you think a dealer or good body shop won't screw it up ? |
