Just picked up pics. launch control question

Picked it up on Thursday. Went to Montreal on Friday so already have 700km on it. I forgot to take pictures of the interior which is red. maybe later.

So serious question here. How do you use launch control? M mode, transmission in manual, press the brake and gas. But the car still rolls forward. I got the flag on but it's just not launch control. it's just pressing 2 pedals at the same time which you can do in any car.

Please explain to me how it works or is it just supposed to be like this which would be weird.

The supplemental manual has the instructions here on page 18. It also states the following:
Do not use launch control too often; otherwise, the high stress on the vehicle will lead to premature component wear.
Do not use launch control during the break-in period.

thx for mentioning the supplemental manual. it answered both my questions about launch control and octane. Should've read all the manuals next time.

could someone confirm that when you use launch control, the brake is still active? so more or less it's like pressing on both pedals at the same time? isn't that really bad for the car? I used my gf's Audi TTS launch control and it was beautiful. only 268 hp but seriously quick. on the TTS when launch control, even with the brake depressed it didn't feel like it was on. But on X6M it certainly was, the car would even roll a bit before I release the brake.
