What is the normal drive-in period for a new X6?

Hi! I was just wondering what the normal drive-in period is for a new diesel X6? Assuming of course this is different to the petrol?

What does the dealer advise and what are the experiences?

the dealer said 2000km, don't go over 3500rpm. After that you should drive a little more carefully until let's say 5000km

I see. And can you drive long distances? Lets say a trip of 500kms driving at less than 3500rpm?

I appreciate that my man! But i dont have the car yet. I was just being a bit anxious

But ok there is a bit more to it. I am taking delivery of the car in the UK. It will be the new XDrive 40d but it will be Left hand Drive. And then i will be driving immediately after pickup to the netherlands. hence the question about whether it is good to drive long distance immediately you pick up the car?

Yeah, but avoid using cruise control. It's not good to stay too long at the same rpm

I suppose the X6s do not require an oil change after the break in period. Am I correct?

Driving off immidiately? That's mean I don't have to warm it up in the morning? I usualy let the engine warm at least 30seconds and I thought is not enough

It's always good to warm up the engine.
The manual may be more concentrated on CO2 emission.

PS According to this manual it does not apply to a brand new cars.
