loyal for life...
Gents,
After enjoying the more connected, raw, visceral driving the my Z4M offers, my V8 m3 has just been sitting too much. Also, I plan to focus on making the Z4 as awesome as possible so It didn't make sense to keep two uber sports cars. I went in to appraise my M3 and get an idea of the costs of buying a X5 or X6. Also, to go over ordering one as well. On the showroom floor was a striking carbon black X6M. I looked but didn't really consider it, after all its a 100k+ vehicle. I chated with the salesmen and such. He asks if I had ever driven a X6M, I said no. two minutes later there is one outside, he hands me the keys. No precredit check or copy of DL etc. just civility and trust. While it was as powerful and stable as I expected it to be I still wasn't thinking of one. salesmen asks if I would consider one, I responded perhaps but its very expensive and wasn't sure BMW financial would carry such a large note. Ive bought 5 bmw's/mini's but nothing this expensive. he said let me look at numbers for you on this 13' we have on showroom floor. we can cut the price as it's a 13'. Also, was the trade issue, I could private sell my m3 for 51K without a whole lot of trouble, initially they offered 46500 for trade but I asked for 49000 as it only had 13k miles on it. two minutes later he is back and says no problem congratulations. I'm thinking for what? we haven't even gone over numbers or finance yet. they discount the car 8 percent plus a tax savings and two loyalty offers BMW has. i'm not hard negotiator but it looked decent to me. He says give me about 5 minutes, im thinking this part will take a day to get setup/approved with BMW financial. My last dealer always played this part heavily acting like they were doing me a big favor. Part of the reason I cut ties with Momentum here in Houston. I'm ready to tell him call me tomorrow with details. he comes back, we go to finance and they already had the contract ready, BMW didn't even flinch on giving me approval. This kind of mutual loyalty and respect is why I'm a customer for life. Mid-town BMW in downtown was awesome. No hard sell, reasonable in negotiating and very civil. And unlike Momentum BMW there was no arrogance or attempts at manipulation. So now I have a 2007 Z4M for pure hardcore driving pleasure and a X6M uber SAV for a powerful, confident 4 passenger beast in a tuxedo! |

It was surreal, I have 6 car loans for my business besides BMW. Lenders go nuts when they see that. BMW financial uses human input and understands that.
It felt like I skipped a few steps in the process. Trust is a powerful force for loyalty. it will keep me going to BMW over and over. Do you miss the Z4M? I find having both gives the full spectrum of driving. Fast and raw(Z4M) to Monster torque, fast and comfortable X6M. I leave in in m mode with the tranny in S mode. It makes the X6 much more alive IMHO. |
