Understood, but if there was actual values or numbers that proved that, it'd be more convincing.
I'm coming from cars that ppl's mentalities that you couldn't run 18" wheels on cars that came with 17" wheels from the factory. |

Personally (and that's all this forum is about) I love the dunlop sport maxx runflat tires. I've had X5 with 18" all season runflat, 19" M sport runflat, 20" Bstone sports, and these.
In between I've tries the Nitto non runflat and also changed in 3 diff sets of winters (or was it 4??). I've got to say that the dunlops are the best. The Nittos felt like jello in comparison. Call me crazy but I'll take the firm ride and responsiveness every time over those. Now I have 21" style 239 with runflat winter Pirellis to try this winter unless someone takes them from me. Another test!! |

As I alluded to in my original post, and as theaudir8fan more explicitly pointed out, the disparity between your front and rear is pretty dramatic. Feel free to check out the specs for yourself. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ilot+Sport+PS2 If it were me, I'd be pulling those tires off tomorrow and putting on some OE sizes.

The traction control light will come on if there is a variance between front and rear tire sizes and the vehicle's computer may retard performance, thinking there is a flat tire.

Slightly off topic.... I replaced my rft's with DWS. They were great in snow, rain etc. slightly smoother ride. But the road noise is pretty loud. Louder than the run flats. They are balanced and rotated, but the noise is really bad...any thoughts

Ordered a set of Nitto Motivo.
Currently running a set of the Dunlop Sport Maxx RFT's and they are junk. Poor ride, one wheel cracking along the tread (never seen this), along with being heavy and poor wear. Ordered the spare tire kit from getbmwparts as well for insurance. I drive the X5 like my car so we'll see how the new tires perform in comparison. |
