Velos vs ESS tune for X5M
I've been on the fence for a while now to go with a tune on my X5M. I've read a lot of reviews about both and they both seem to have good feed back. Has anyone experienced both tunes first hand? If so, I would like to hear your feed back and reviews. Thanx

It would be good to see if we could get all tuners at once and see dyno and street performance.
If any of you are in the New England area would love to get together at a neutral point and see how they all compare...once I get my car back Do a little velos, ESS, Dinan and I think AA makes a tune. I know PP would be a stretch and don't know how many of those cars are in the states. OP to answer your question it's personal preference. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the major tuners out there. |

I went with Velos.
Dinan was a bit too much money even though they're hassle free /warranty friendly tune. ESS and Velos both have good price and seems pretty much same, reliable powerful tune. But Velos comes with handheld tuners which I really liked since I don't own any PC. And when I emailed bunch of Velos owners in the forum, they all say good thing about their customer service. So I went with Velos and I can tell you this. I'm sure they all make good tunes but Velos does have good customer service and they really takes care of you.

I also did some research and went with Velos because of 3 things:
1. customer service 2. Personal Tuner which gives me the ability to go back to stock if needed 3. from my comparison, Velos has been very open about its gain on the mid-range which is what the X5M lacks On the other hand, I just tuned mine 2 days ago and have only done a few miles of test drive so I can't really comment on its long term performance. |
