What the heck is this camera looking thing?
I've had my car since Dec of 2009 and I still have not figured out what this camera looking thing is. I've looked at other X6's but they don't have it. Always noticed it but keep forgetting to ask. I know someone knows.....

I thought the rain sensor was located in the unit above that camera looking thing...?

Or maybe is the light sensor for the automatic light assistance feature .........

Actually if I am not mistaken, that camera also reads the speed limit signs and displays it on the HUD in Europe. Can some of our European friends confirm that?

I have a 2012 model, with high beam assistant and HUD, this camera does not look like that any longer as the high beam is located together with the rain/light sensor. The camera shown on the photo is 100% hogh beam assistant, I had it in my E92 and it is the exact photo as in the catalogue.
